So to be honest I had some doubts about a sushi 🍣 restaurant in Waukegan, but!!!! This place had such worthy great reviews and hey are all true!! Peter, was the best server ever, so attentive and funny. We had gone for an early Mother’s Day dinner and tried the Willis tower which was heavenly and Ramen and Korean chicken which were all so delicious!!! Had the best time!! Love the look of the place and the food is on point!! Gem of a place on greenbay!

I overheard someone talking about Ikigai at a nearby brewery, so we were very eager to try a sushi spot in Waukegan.
We were beyond please with Ikigai. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our server offered to answer any questions that we had about the menu, and the service was very prompt.
We ordered the chicken and pork dumplings as an appetizer. They were incredible, and I loved the sauce so much that I asked to keep the sauce dish for our rolls. Our server brought us a fresh bowl of the sauce because of how much I loved it.
We ordered three different rolls for dinner-- the spicy tuna roll, the spider roll, and the Waukegan roll. I couldn't tell you which was my favorite. They were all amazing and the portions of fish in each roll were super generous.
Side note: I have ALWAYS had issues with using chopsticks. (I blame it on being left handed, but I know that's just an excuse.) One of the staff recognized this and immediately offered an awesome tutorial on chopstick-usage. It was much appreciated! We will definitely be regulars!
Chicks dig this spot. Def coming back. Favorite is the waukegan burrito, if not that hungry. The bowl is what I usually get on the second date. Place always gets me laid. Rather expensive to be honest but great flavor.
We love sushi, particularly yellowtail and this restaurant has salmon roe! It was all very fresh combined with the pretty placement as well. With the pleasant music, very kind staff and boba baristas, it was a pleasant early dinner overall and definitely will be coming back!! :)
This was our first time trying this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The burrito was my favorite, my son got the teriyaki chicken roll and veggie roll. I wish I would have taken pictures of the other dishes we order, but everything tasted good. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you are in the area. :-)
I am a sushi fanatic. And I can honestly say this place has the best sushi I have ever tasted in my life. The chefs are amazing. Every bite was delicious! You can tell how much love and effort they put into every dish. Their presentation is phenomenal. I love that Waukegan has this little hidden treasure. I honestly will recommend it to anyone. I hope this review brings this place even more business since they honestly deserve it. They have such lovely personality, definitely pros at great customer service. I know they had a recent reopening due to covid. So, glad they are back!!! I hope people are able to spread the word more about this amazing place. And the best part is that their prices are very reasonable. I've been to more expensive sushi places that didn't taste half as good. In conclusion, if you want reasonably price delicious sushi, please support this amazing sushi restaurant.
Really glad to see that another sushi place has opened up where there was previously another, and that it is even better! Today I tried the tempura shrimp (which was perfect), chicken gyoza and a bowl of tonkatsu ramen. All items were very good, I will definitely visit again
Super impressed. (I’m a Seattle girl who is bougie as hell about how fresh my fish is.) Very happy I stopped by for boba and discovered this place. Sushi is top notch, plating is beautiful, Bento boxes and the ramen are super yummy…. May have to wait a bit because it does look like they could use a little more staff (and are hiring) but the customer service was still great. Will definitely be back ❤️✨
Very good sushi. Highly recommended for good service, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and of course great tasting food. We had the Shaggy dog roll, teriyaki chicken roll, and the angry fire chicken burrito.
Imma be honest this place is really good me and my daughter went the sushi rolls are amazing the ugdon noodles are basically beef noodles and broth but good lol not gonna lie but the fried rice isn’t good to be honest that was only thing we didn’t finish
It's one of my favorite sushi places. Tried a place near 6 flags, and Ohsio is way better to me. Highly recommend
It’s a really cute place and the food is really good :) its on the smaller side so the service is good too, definitely recommend !!
