Great food! Nice place and friendly people. Crab ragoons were awesome!
Maybe it’s because we also run a family business that this place feels special to us. Kudos to the family that runs this place. It’s not easy running a business, but it’s so cool to see everyone here working together. The food is classic Chinese take out and it never misses. We love the house special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and steamed dumplings. We order that at least once a week.
Best Chinese and lowest price I’ve had in Waukegan (I liked better than Ming Toy, which was my long time favorite).
No seating. Extra charge for additional sauces, silverware, etc.
So good! I was watching Big Bang Theory around 8pm and they were eating Chinese takeaway and I haven’t had it in years. This did not disappoint. Amazing portion for the price. The veggies and meat seemed so fresh and the sauce wasn’t overly salty. I was sad it didn’t come in the little white boxes that I remember growing up. Even so, this will be my go to. Sorry Panda Express :)
I've been coming to China Garden for over 14 years now. I had no idea they had new owners! Their food still tastes fantastic! I love to order chicken and mixed vegetables. I highly recommend this restaurant!
This was my first time here. I saw some bad reviews but I decided to give them a chance anyways. I has the crab rangoon, vegetable fried rice, and vegetable egg foo young. The crab rangoon was the best that I've ever had!!! This dish won't disappoint you. The other food items were delicious as well.
It's aaaight. Food was fine. Inside of the store is "lackluster" some would say but who has time to clean a lobby when you're busy taking orders and cooking food 🥴. I just would never want to know what it looks like behind that plexiglass.
And for the love of God, get a weaker spring for that damn door. If you have to put a sign up saying to close it gently then maybe replace the hardware guys.
An excellent place for a low-key, relaxing meal with friends. Tasty food, excellent value. Don't be turned off by the sketchy exterior and the disposable plates and utensils. Service is good and the food is delicious, comfort food. The inside is not upscale by any stretch but has plenty of booths and is decorated with quaint, homemade decorations including children's drawings and old elementary school projects.
Always fast and very tasty. Highly recommend the special combination dinners. Great value.
