First time there yesterday and the service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and the food was excellent. Love that they have a patio at the wauwatosa location. We didn't think they had one until we went in and they asked if we wanted inside or patio. I had the chimmichanga and it was great. My husband had the steak tacos on the corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. He loved them! My friend ate my guacamole because I don't eat it and she said it was delicious! Will definitely be back to this location.
Our two most recent visits have been very nice experiences. We’ve had the outdoor patio to ourselves and attentive servers. Both were very kind in how they interacted with our daughter with special needs. And the margaritas were delicious!
Ordered veggie fajita from doordash. Packaging of the product was good. Additional spoons forks everything was provided without asking.quality and quantity of food was good enough.overall had an amazing Sunday lunch all by myself
This place has Friendly and fast service. They also have lots of unique margaritas, and food was decent. I would definitely go back. I would like to try every margarita on the menu.
Best Guac!. We went to Habanero's today for lunch. I had the soft tacos (chicken) and my friend had a combo plate. The food was good, not spectacular, but good --- and there was a lot of it. However, the guacamole was the best I've ever had and I'm from Texas. There are six different kinds, all made fresh at the table. We tried the house version with everything and I would go back just to eat the guac! Can't wait to try the other varieties. The staff was not overly attentive, which is fine with me, and very friendly.
Great food but even better service. Request Luis as your server and you won't be disappointed! We will be coming back for sure!
Enchilada Monterrey special was great. Recommended if you like a little zing. It was a dinner special.

Decent food, fun decor, excellent service. First, the environs are very impressive considering this little restaurant is located in a strip mall. The decor is authentic-seeming and the faux balcony around the dining room adds a fun backdrop. The music is at just the right level and the seating is comfortable.
The waitstaff was probably the best part of the dining experience at Habanero's. Our waiter was very polite and called us "amigos" which was pretty neat. He was very attentive but not overbearing. The guacamole server was also very polite.
As for the food, my favorite item was the guac. It's made right in front of you with fresh ingredients - it has to be good. There are about 5 or 6 different kinds from which you can choose. You are also able to choose your heat level - mild, medium, and hot. Medium worked well for us. I chose the Oaxaca Burrito for my entree. It's served with rice, sour cream, and more guac. The burrito itself was OK. It was a little on the bland side, but the corn and fresh cilantro helped season things up a bit. The rice was very good. Overall wasn't disappointed or overly impressed. I know one thing - afterwards I was very full.
If you haven't been to Habanero's, it's definitely worth a try.
Best Around!. My fiance and I shopped around for a good Mexican place for months. We tried it all -- Botanas, El Fuego, Guadalupe, La Perla. While Botanas was the leader for a little while, we still weren't completely satisfied.
One day on our way back from Mayfair we passed this place and decided to give it a go. After our many misadventures in seeking our new favorite Mexican place, I came in with a defeated attitude and low expectations. I mean the place is in a strip mall, forchristsake!
We were both so pleasantly surprised and instantly fell in love! The food was amazing and we finally found the cheese dip we'd searched for for months.
Since then we've made a point to go a few times a month and have always had a great dining experience. We almost always get the same server, and even when we don't, he usually comes up to the table to say hello and play with our little one.
Cannot speak highly enough of this place!

Awesome guac. We like this place, mostly due to the table side guacamole cart, which is always top notch, but also not cheap either. Also the food has always been delicious, we have rarely ever had anything we did not like here, but since we are not familiar with everything on the menu we do from time to time find things we are not fans of. I say we since this is one of my wires favorite places to dine out, not to mention I have a lot of friends who love this place too, so it is rare that I am ever here alone, and I know no one who dislikes it.
Sure it may not be fully authentic, it is Americanized with larger portions and a lot of meat, but clearly that is what the people who keep this place full nearly every time I am here are looking for. If you want authentic try Conejitos on 6th st. If you want awesome freshly made to order guacamole and other Americanized Mexican food come here.
The food is not cheap, it's not expensive either, but drinks are another story. Unless you get a special the drinks are too expensive to recommend. But sometimes you just need a margarita. Also they have horchata, which is a rarity, and they just recently stopped putting it in stupid, but pretty, glasses. So now of course we have to get it every time we eat here, which is a treat unto itself.
Wow, that was great authentic mexican food! Haven't had food that spicy and delicious since I was in Mexico! Well worth a visit.
Amazingly good Mexican food. The Cinco de Mayo guacamole is fantastic. Margarita selection is great. TRY IT you'll like it!
Decent Mexican food, but lacking in seasoning. Great service and I had a nice margarita. The food looked good when it came out, but our food was just missing something, I added hot sauce and it helped, but I really would have appreciated more salt or something.
Had an appointment near habaneros, had not been here in a long time. Visited around 5 PM so wasn't too busy. Might have also been happy hour. Had the brisket and steak tacos. Served with the habanero sauce. Food arrived in a timely manner and was nicely plated. Substituted refried beans for the black beans. All in all was very good. Little tip on the salsa....mix some of the habanero with the regular chip salsa to tone it down a bit
Well, what can I say about this place, better than the last one. They have great customer service. The girl that took our order was very nice and respectful.
Love their seasoned chips with the salsa, then our plates was full of delicious food we ordered. They had good Horchata here, I had the regular lemonade. We also had the original guacamole it was ok. It was a little blend tho. I was bummed a little because they didn't have the Guac with porkrinds anymore 😞
I will recommend the fajitas dinner combo, the plate my daughter in law had, delicious. Will be coming back soon to eat something else. Thank you.

Food came out pretty quick and was really good! The first time I ordered a chimichanga and the 2nd time I got 2 tacos (most places let you get 3 for a specific price but it was cool it was good)
The first time I went I noticed a celebrity tequila (Kendall Jenner’s) and the menu said add any premium tequila for $1 more and they told me it would be $10…. Then I was like let me get just a shot of it and they still was like $10 so I said forget that no way I’m paying $20 for a drink or $10 for a shot. I felt like once I mentioned it was a celeb tequila they tried to up charge me but other then that everything was good. The lady server was very nice.
I ordered enchiladas los cabos and it was everything! Seasoned well, hot and spicy. I don't really even eat tilapia, but I enjoyed it in that enchilada. Service was good too.
Excellent food and service. Authentic cuisine. Not run of the mill Mexican fare.
Habeneros provided a meat and vegetarian taco bar and appetizers for our backyard graduation party last weekend and did a super job! The food was delicious and there was plenty of it -I think more than we even ordered. No one went home hungry! Ordering and pick up service was excellent too. I will definitely have them cater again - highly recommend.
