Take the wife and toddler here occasionally. The back room has a great view of the passing trains which our son adores.
Prices seem a touch high at first glance, but the portions are awesome.
Love their fresh guacamole, made right at the table and their fajitas are awesome!
Jose’s Blue Sombrero is a great place for phenomenal Mexican food in the Wauwatosa village. Located right next to Cafe Hollander, they have a nice bar area with tvs, indoor and outdoor patio seating including a balcony! The food is is really good and we’re a big fan of their fajitas, fajitas tacos, burritos, and signature Mexican entrees. They also have a great selection of margaritas, both frozen and on the rocks, including a delicious skinny margarita. Our favorite part of all, they feature a guacamole cart and make fresh guacamole table-side with the ingredients of your choice. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area!
That's one hopping place, especially at happy hour! Very cool atmosphere & decor! Ordered some chips and guacamole & a lady rolled up a cart of all the ingredients & made it right in front of us! 😲 SO good!!
Phenomenal food, clean restaurant, and great service! Will definitely go back! You can't find better Mexican food out there, I guarantee it.
The freshly made guacamole is amazing, recommend if you can only try one thing, go for that. Rest of the meal (enchiladas) was tasty as well. Fun place with a festive spirit. One side note is if you have minors along and plan to sit in the area near the bar, plan on waiting until happy hour ends (6 PM in our case). If you use the convenient Jose's parking, also be sure to validate at the host stand on the way out. Overall, very good!
Excellent food. Had the Friday Mexican fish fry with potato pancakes. House margaritas are great!!👍😊 Would definitely visit again!!
Great service. The waiter misunderstood our order and offered to put it back in the kitchen, he requested a remake and tried to be absolutely certain it was correct. Cool to watch guacamole made in front of us. Excellent food. Moderate prices. Allot of food combos are not traditional, food is trendy.
Our first visit here and it was great. Honestly, we thought this place was not going to be very good just because we go to "real" Mexican restaurants in our Hispanic neighborhood. But i was pleasantly surprised. We had to sit and eat at the bar since it was late but no problem for us. The bartender was courteous, spoke both English and Spanish. Good to see mainly spanish speaking people around us and mexican/latin music on the speakers. Felt better than a Chi Chi lol. The street tacos were fantastic. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. My only issue, which is my own fault, was the house margarita. Its very very sweet compared to many others i have had, but generously served in a beer stein. We will definitely be back.
