The Hunter's Wife Wenatchee

The Hunter's Wife catered my small Leavenworth wedding in May of 2018. I've been vegan for many years so it was important to us that the wedding food was all vegan. We struggled to find a caterer near Leavenworth that even knew what vegan meant, let alone someone who could craft an amazing vegan meal. One of the local caterers suggested I get in touch with Tandi at the Hunter's Wife, and I am SO GLAD that I did. Tandi, Mel, and the incredible team at Hunter's Wife went above and beyond for our wedding and we could not have been happier. I highly, highly recommend the team at the Hunter's Wife if you are looking for some great vegan catering for your next special event. The food was unbelievably good. Like, beyond my wildest dreams good. As in, my omni wedding guests loved it good. It was gorgeous to look at - everything was plated awesomely and made you excited to eat it. And once you finally took a bite, it was so delicious! So many different textures and flavors were packed into this meal and I could not have been happier. Here was our all-star menu (try not to drool): Cocktail hour: Abundance platter & compassion platter (details on their website) Appetizer: Assortment of cheese stuffed dates, pesto zucchini sliders, and walnut chorizo rollups Salad: Local greens with lemon dressing Soup: Miso cucumber mint gazpacho soup, garnished with cashew sour cream Entrée: Portabello mushroom stuffed with marinara sauce and risotto, with a side of garlic bread and mashed potatoes They offered us dessert options but we decided to just have wedding cake be dessert! Speaking of which, The Hunter's Wife also baked our wedding cake!! I gave them a few photos and ideas on what I was looking for, and they made it even more beautiful than I could have hoped. It fit our wedding venue and theme perfectly. And, it tasted great! As far as service goes, they did a great job. We had scheduled a tasting but weren't able to make it over the pass due to a snowstorm. Tandi insisted that we shouldn't worry about it, that our safety was the most important thing. (I mention this only because we had another vendor that was extremely upset with us and I felt Tandi handled it very professionally). Once we rescheduled, the tasting went super well. There were a million options and we worked together with Tandi to craft our menu. We were being a bit difficult because we were basically like, "We love everything, do whatever you want!" Tandi helped us focus in on an overall theme and put together a cohesive and delicious menu with all of our favorite options. The day of service was amazing as well, Mel and her crew showed up early with everything they needed. Each course was served exactly on time and at high quality. At the end of the evening, they had cleaned the entire kitchen and it was like they had never even been there. Everyone in my family that was working with them to get dishes out and get things set up was extremely impressed at how kind and wonderful they were. The only improvement I can think of is that sometimes during the planning phase it could be tough to get ahold of Tandi since she's working so many awesome things. However, I trusted her and Mel to do things correctly & didn't need to do much back & forth so this wasn't really a problem for us. I also want to give a special shout out about their treatment of allergies. My mom has a life threatening coconut allergy, as well as allergies to a few other common vegan staples. If you're vegan, you know how hard it is to avoid coconut in basically anything. They were so knowledgeable about how everything was made since it was all done from scratch. They made my mom a special version of each dish with no allergens, and she didn't have any reactions. I'm so thankful to them for being flexible and helping my mom enjoy such a special day without concerns about her health. Highly highly recommend the amazing team at The Hunter's Wife if you need delicious catering for your next big event!
