What a Find. Blue Pear Bistro does an admirable job of combining great food in a convivial atmosphere. The restaurant is housed in a charming, old general store in a historic corner of the Brandywine Valley.
The menu has a great selection of small and medium plates. Don’t be fooled. The medium plates are full-sized dinners. But the broad selection of small plates allows diners to choose a selection of appetizer-type options in order to try several items.
Host/owner Jim does a tremendous job making everyone feel at home and comfortable.
I’m so happy that we stumbled across this excellent restaurant.
Salmon was excellent. Nice presentation. Setting was very nice and great service
Our favorite local restaurant! The ambiance, the food, the drinks turn every visit to a fun experience . The owner of the restaurant knows you by your name, checks in and makes sure you are fully satisfied. The waiters also know what drink you like, and offers you other options to try. We enjoy the no pressure time when we dine at Blue Pear.
This place had really great food. A bit pricey for some of the items but it's an upscale restaurant so it was expected. The mushroom pizza I had was just amazing. And it's in a beautiful area in a historic building which made it a nice atmosphere. I'll definitely go back.
The Blue Pear is a quaint, lovely little bistro housed in an historic Chester County gem. Food is excellent and waitstaff is attentive. The owner Jim is committed to providing quality food and service. He makes his rounds in the evening and greets everyone warmly- seems to know many patrons personally. Nice selection of cocktails and wine. Happy hour specials. Will definitely be back!
Exceptional mix of old favorites, regularly refreshed menu updates, and specials, and prepared with the highest of quality. Very personable, knowledgeable, and efficient staff.
Pay particular attention to holiday long weekends, there are usually several lobster specials (the Lobster Cobb Salad and Lobster Roll are to die for!), as well as a whole roasted pork, where the chef is very accommodating to requests for special cuts.
Among our favorite place to eat when we are in town!
I go to The Blue Pear quite often and having tried just about everything on the menu, I can say I've never been disappointed. The braised beef short ribs are to die for and you can cut right into them with your fork they're so tender. I've even gone just for dessert just to order the french toast - such a unique dish with tons of fresh flavor in the berry sauce. Can't wait to go back soon!
Amazing place. The atmosphere is great. The food out of this world. Staff, very friendly. No kids menu or anything for a kid to eat, or even high chairs. Still, don't miss the opportunity to eat here. Wonderful experience.
Quality quality quality!! So good on multiple occasions. And they go out of there way to do takeout too, even though they are such a classy place. A go to spot if you just want a great meal in a cozy atmosphere. Byob a plus
