Food is really good , definitely recommended and it’s cheap. They have Latin club inside too . During weekends nights for dances .

We had dinner here tonight and just had a fabulous time. We ordered pupusas, tamales, fajitas, enchiladas, chimichangas, and steak tacos, and it was all so good. What really topped off our experience was the service. Our waiter, Felipe, was incredible. We were dining with our entire family including our 2 year and by the end of the meal my son was so enthused with our server that he gave him the biggest hug. Super nice guy. I highly recommend coming here the next time you're in the mood for delicious, authentic dishes this is the place to go. This was actually a place we had a coupon from in the attractions book and decided to try out, we will definitely be back.

This place is great if you know what you are getting yourself into.
First off, it's basically a nightclub with a restaurant attached. When you walk in, you walk into a deserted dancefloor with a neon lit bar to one side. Surprising. There is restaurant seating past the bar, however.
The food is LEGIT. If you like real Mexican food, this is a great place to try, as Wilmington is really bereft of options. They don't have some meats that have to be prepared in large quantities (like pastor), but the food was very fresh. It took awhile to get our order, but it was worth it.
We got the molcajete (steak, chicken, pork, and shrimp cooked in a stone pot with spicy green sauce, jalapeno, onion, and cactus). It was served with beans and rice, lettuce, pic, and crema, as well as fantastic homemade tortillas. I also ordered pupusas (cheese and pork), which were great, and a tamale, also great. It was plenty of food for two people, and we took home a full box of leftovers.
The place was totally deserted when we were there. I think its main business is as a nightclub--but it is definitely worth a visit for the food. I can't speak to the other dishes, but everything we got was fresh and tasty. Our server was very sweet as well.
If you've been disappointed by the Mexican restaurants in Wilmington offering only a choice of ground beef or shredded chicken in your flavorless enchilada, give La Kumbala a try.
Great, authentic Mexican food! Found this little place, and ithey are now our go-to for Mexican. Workers and extremely friendly, and helpful. Highly recommended!
The food is Excellent. The woman who waited on me was very sweet and helpful. The pupusas delicious and the horchata refreshing. Highly recommend.
It's also a bar/ nightclub so if you go in for lunch it's like this huge empty space with a few tables. Service and food we're good.
Great food and dancing on the weekend is lots of fun!
