The food, drink, and atmosphere was fantastic! Everything was so fresh and well prepared. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks we ordered and had some great suggestions. I will definitely dine here again! Highly recommend The General Public House!
Some of the best food I’ve had in a while! I had The buttermilk chicken and it was incredibly juicy and their Mac and cheese is to die for! If you like chocolate cake, you’ve got to try their chocolate toffee cake! It’s as close to the Matilda cake I’ve ever experienced.
A very nice Mother’s Day afternoon lunch. We were greeted by a friendly and animated gentleman and promptly seated and served by Anjelika. She was top notch.
The food was very good. The Shrimp Grits were excellent, large shrimp too. The Odd Bird is a one of a kind and real good! The potato side was great too.
The one star down was the grits had some large clumpy spots, most likely due to our arriving near closing.
Just beware although there is a posted closing time. They kitchen closes 45 minutes earlier. An unexpected pleasure. Food was awesome. Also had a Florida citrus punch cocktail. Very nice not to sweet. The sweet potatoes fries were home made. An appetizer of fried green tomatoes. Think slices with larger size panko bread crumbs made them extra crunchy. I normally do not care for pimento cheese. In this case it went very well with other flavors making it harmonious. Waitress was very good and attentive. The only reason I would say not to try it. Would be the next time I go it will be crowded.
Stopped by after the Central Florida Highland Games. Nice menu. Good sandwiches and salads. Also nice little selection of wines and beers. Easy going. Fun place to hang out.
I was with a party of 10 on Saturday, all with different dietary restrictions, we were trying to find a good restaurant that would make everyone happy. One of the girls stumbled upon The General Public House on Yelp and we decided to try it. Called ahead to make sure they could accommodate us. They were so friendly and had our table ready when we walked in. The restaurant is in a nice, relatively new neighborhood in Casselberry. Its decor was rustic and cozy. Everyone loved their meals. I had the French Onion soup (Gluten-free option), and Beet Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, and Ahi Tuna as a protein. Very good food. Very personable staff. Will definitely be back!
I also appreciated the sign in the women's room that said if a woman was in distress at the restaurant because of a bad date, or company, they had a code phrase to say to the staff to help her "escape".
Extra star for the service from Cassi. The lobster bisque was the star on this visit. Next time I think we'd stick with the Oysters we had on our first visit and the lobster bisque we had on this visit. The sandwiches we had on this trip were heavy on the bread and light on the meat and chicken. The fries were good and they have a decent selection of beers on tap and in bottles.
