Great Spot! An Anthony Bourdain recommendation that didn’t disappoint. Excellent food. Great service. Got off the plane and went directly here to begin our 3-day seafood run!! So good!! Drinks were good too.

Tried the clam chowder and the fried seafood combo, size of the cup could be a little bigger but really good flavor. Added a 1/4 lb lobster meat to the combo, quite enough for two people. Went on a saturday night in december, no waiting time to be seated. Only cash accepted, $50 dollars per person.
We dined outside on the waters edge. Our waitress was top notch, attentive and friendly. Then there was to food… over the top amazing and a very generous portion. Every bite was a fresh taste of seafood heaven.
Lobster roll was.. ok. I’d like to try it again at another place. Service wasn’t too long. Staff was friendly. Cash only
Swordfish sandwich with rice pilaf was absolutely delicious. Clam chowder was room temp but tasted good.
Belle Isle is a must every single time I fly into Boston Logan. The food is fresh, delicious and perfectly prepared. Their fisherman's platter is truly enough to feed two to three people, but don't pass on the lobster roll. Belle Isle has the best lobster roll in Boston. I've been downtown and tried some more "trendy" restaurants - they've got nothing on Belle Isle. This is honest New England seafood with no frills, great prices and plenty of free parking.
UPDATE - 07/21/23
I had read some negative reviews of Belle Isle recently and that had me worried about one of my favorite Boston restaurants. Last night I was in Boston and decided to go and see for myself. It wasn't until about 7:30 that I decided to go and so I was curious to see what service would be like on a Friday night rather close to closing time. To my surprise, the parking lot was packed and I had to drive around to find a place to park. That was a good sign. Upon entering the restaurant, I was happy to see almost every table full and most of the seats at the bar taken. This place was slammed! I got a table near the window and was greeted by my server, Donna. She was absolutely fantastic - friendly and attentive. She, like all the other servers there, were busy with multiple tables - some with as many as 6-8 people. However, she never stopped checking in with me to see if I needed anything.
I started with an order of fried clams and for my main, I ordered the tail lobster roll with onion rings. I have had both of these years ago and they were outstanding. I'm happy to say that Belle Isle is every bit as phenomenal as I remember. Their food was absolutely delicious! The fried clam strips and bellies absolutely melted in my mouth. The strips were tender, not chewy and the bellies were so juicy and tender. After that, I am thrilled to say that Belle Isle still has the best lobster roll in Massachusetts, if not New England. It's a traditional roll with the requisite toasted split top roll, topped with a layer of crisp iceberg lettuce and then topped with a 1/2 pound of succulent lobster tail tossed in just the right amount of mayonnaise. This lobster roll really is perfection. The lettuce prevents the lobster meat from making the roll soggy and it adds a delightful textural contrast with its clean, crisp crunch. The lobster meat has the perfect amount of mayonnaise that just binds everything together; there are no filler ingredients like celery, etc. This is half pound of pure lobster meat and it's delightfully succulent and sweet. Even though it is a cold roll, it's not chewy or rubbery. The onion rings were lightly breaded and delicious. I was so relieved that Belle Isle is the jewel of Winthrop as it's always been. The food and service are top notch! I'll be back the next time I visit Boston.
Amazing seafood. I am partial to fried seafood and Belle Isle didn't disappoint. I had a combo platter and the haddock, shrimp, scallops and clams with onion rings, fries and slaw.
The wife ordered a lobster roll. It was packed with lobster. Definitely not cheated. The daughter ordered fried smelt. Again the plate was over flowing with smelt, onion rings, fries and slaw.
The interior was very nautical and sea porty. I did like that it was more of an outside feeling than stuffy seafood restaurant.
Service with a smile.
BTW, cash only
CASH, bring some. i thought i had enough cash for a lobster roll and a beer but i was mistaken. unfortunately i didn't have my debit card with me so sadly i didnt get the lobster roll. i think they were going at around $40 or a bit more. i went ahead and got myself a swordfish roll with the teriyaki option and it was delicious at around $15. got there around 30mins before closing, i got a mixed bag of service. the girl taking my order was nice, some of the servers not so, but if the lobster rolls were anywhere as good at the swordfish then this place is def worth it.
Second time visiting from out of state just for their impressive lobster rolls! The rolls are massive! All lobster tail, just mayo to highlight the sweet lobster flavor, cooked to perfection. Good luck finding the bun! So much lobster one of our party asked for an extra toasted bun to split the lobster. Fries and onion rings are good too. Treat yourself!
Looks are deceiving. Inside they cook up some of the freshest seafood around. I do fried, but they broil too.
They serve generous portions too.
They also do wine, beer and cocktails.
These pictures were on a cloudy day, but still are great day.
