The service was phenomenal and the food was amazing! The best Venezuelan food I’ve ever had in the US. I highly recommends the chef’s specials and the arepas of course. The paella was great. Go check it out and order one of everything.
The food was delicious! It was the best restaurant rib eye I have had in the DMV area. The mini cachapas and areas were good, too. The areas are very filling. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service was friendly. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.
One of my favorite restaurants. Venezuelan/Columbian arepas and empanadas with amazing sauces and sides. Definately try the pabellon arepa and ground beef empanada. Family owned with a warm vibe. Love. Love. Love!
We happened to be in the area and made an unplanned lunch stop. It's been a while since I had arepas and these didn't disappoint. We started with an order of yucca fries. They were large planks, nice to cut to let them cool off and dip into the sauce. I'm not one for mayo/mayo-based sauces, and this was delicious.
The arepas were the standout and we did slightly over order. We both did a combo, so for variety we had a ham and Venezuelan cheese, beef and cheddar (I think), chicken and cheddar, and the pabellon : beef, Venezuelan cheese, black beans, and sweet plantains. The pabellon was the favorite, but they were all really good. Don't let the relatively small diameter fool you, these are stuffed and filling. We probably could have gotten away with 2 to split... MAYBE 3 since I was hungry. They were so simple and every once and a while you get the nice, fresh corn taste of the arepa shine through. The outside was nice and crisp with a tender interior, plus they held up to juicy fillings without falling apart. I will definitely be back.
First time trying Arepas. They were wonderful. The service was great. We got seated immediately. We arrived a little after the lunch rush. We were greeted with a smile and hospitable staff.
The Arepas were freshly assembled after we ordered and arrived steaming hot. The texture was great. The corn cake was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We had chicken salad with avocado, chicken and cheese, tuna salad. All of them were flavorful.
We finished up with an order of churros. So good. We will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.
Arepas Capitol is like a Venezuelan food party for your taste buds! Seriously, if you're craving authentic Venezuelan grub, this place nails it. Their arepas are like little pockets of joy – crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with all sorts of delicious fillings that just scream, "I'm from Venezuela, and I'm tasty!" The vibes there? Think cozy, friendly, and vibrant – it's like they've bottled up a piece of Venezuela and sprinkled it all over the place. And the folks serving you? They're the cherry on top, super welcoming and passionate about sharing their food culture. So, whether you're a die-hard fan of Venezuelan flavors or just up for an adventure in your mouth, Arepas Capitol is where you wanna be. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!
Arepas Capitol has the best arepas and empanadas in the area. We ended up ordering two arepas (pabellón and pollo), an empanada con carne, side of yucca, the appetizer platter, and also ordered the quesillo and four empanadas to go. The service was great, and the food even better.
Arepas Capitol is a great restaurant for singles, families, and everyone in between! The food arrived quick and is bigger and more filling than you might think for good prices. It's authentic, delicious, and served hot. We were served by Herman who was very helpful and explained any foods we weren't familiar with. The place itself is decorated finely and there are beautiful paintings of the Venezuelan landscape to accompany you while you eat. Overall it's a great experience and for anyone looking for a bite on the i95 corridor or just a good place to eat I highly recommend it.
I came to this restaurant for the first time and try the arepas and the food was delicious. Nice restaurant with great atmosphere and top notch service. I had the shrreded cheese and beef arepa and the reina pepiada arepa. I would like to thank my server Rafael for such great customer service. I will definitely come back in the near future to get some arepas.
Everything was so good. The empanadas were the best I have had. We got the chef’s special and had plenty of food to split between two people. The rice was the only thing that wasn’t great. I mean it wasn’t bad by any means, just not amazing. If your trying to decide if you want to give them a try, do it. Its worth it.
