Been to this place twice. Once during Puerto Rican festivals in Manassas because it was way to hot there and the lines where outrageous, and yesterday. Wife and I both love the food she went in very biased and left really enjoyed the food. Told me it reminded her how her dad and family back in PR. Will definitely return.
My wife and I have been craving some good mofongo since coming back from Puerto Rico but haven’t found a good spot in the DMV until today! This restaurant is legit! I ordered the pork mofongo and my wife ordered the shrimp mofongo. Both of us loved our meals. Portions were fairly generous and the consistency of the plantains was on point. Highly recommend!
All I can say is that I felt like i was in Miami. I ordered the Mofongo Los 5 Golpes and the Cubin sandwich. The Cuban sandwich is the best hands down in the DMV area. And the flavors of this mafungo which consisted of all of their delicious meats. Oh my gosh, it was delicious.
Wow! Sums it all pretty good!! Service was good, food was superb, it did take over 30 minutes though, but it was worth the wait. Portion size are very good too.
Went here for the first time and got a to-go order. The food was really good. However, I don't like the white meat portion of the chicken. I loved the dark meat portions of the stewed chicken. I will go again and specify. My favorite was the arroz con gandules!!
If you're in the NoVa area and you enjoy authentic Puerto Rican/Dominican food, you owe it to yourself to visit this spot. The owners Miguel and Luz Oliveras have brought a little bit of the islands to Woodbridge. We had been starving for real authentic PR food in the area without having to travel to DC and now we have it.
Miguel is in the dining room making everyone feel welcomed while Luz is cooking up a storm in the kitchen. The server was busy but attentive, cheerful, and on point. The drinks were good and everything is fairly priced.
Between us we had the carne guisada with rice, beans, and tostones, pork mofongo, alcapurrias, and a few more things and it was ALL lick your fingers, kiss the chef delicious.
The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they are only there 4 months and like most other start ups, are acclamaiting and ramping up to what I'm sure will be a 5 star rating in no time.
Treat yourself and your loved ones to this hidden gem. You'll be glad you did.
There is so many dishes to choose from. The service and staff was really good, they can help you on deciding on a good meal.
This is my second time and so far I love it! The food is really good and taste is like Puerto Rico! The Alcapurrias amazing and the sorrullitos the best. For dessert we order flan de queso and in my opinion too sweet but the pudin bread it was really good. They have space for grew up in the Menu!
Really really enjoyed our date night. Made us miss Puerto Rico! Food was delicious.
Although, I will say I feel the calamari was a little over cooked, just a bit too crunchy. It still had good flavor, just slightly over done.
For entrees we had CHULETA FRITA (fried pork chops)and MOFONGO LOS 5 GOLPES (Mofongo served with Beef, Chicken, Fried Cheese, Pork and Shrimp)
Monfongo is a Puerto Rican dish of fried green plantain mashed with garlic sauce and pork rind, drizzled with sauce.
My only other negative would be the music was too loud, making conversation difficult. But the staff was friendly and the restaurant had a clean fresh ambiance. Bathroom was clean as well (very important). Will definitely return. Expect to bring home leftovers.
