I ordered the lamb curry extra spicy and it DID NOT disappoint. The meat was so tender and the sauce was so flavorful and spicy, just like I wanted it. I picked it up to dine out and once I got home, the food was still hot and amazing. Great job and I will definitely be going back.
A friend wanted to try something new for her birthday, so we headed here. The food was delicious (I got the achar chicken tandoori) and the waiter was very patient in answering many questions. I had enough food for a second meal the next day as well, so I got to enjoy it twice!
Very good tasty Indian food. Sometimes hit or miss with certain dishes coming out too watery/soupy but the rice is always great n the flavors. Little bit pricier than the other local Indian restaurants in nearby but definitely the classiest.
I ate here several years ago and was not impressed. I recently tried again, and I'm glad I did. The portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I will return soon.
I came to Reading to visit and stay with a friend for sometime and had a craving for Indian food. Being Indian American myself, I am naturally choosy and discriminating when choosing an Indian restaurant to dine at. Since I'm not from the area, I had to Google to see where the nearest Indian joints were. This place had consistently high ratings, 4 and above.
I must start off by saying that the staff was welcoming and friendly. I chose the buffet to sample and get a feel of their general daily menu.
The food was of good quality, but wasn't outstanding. The lemon rice didn't have enough salt. Veggie dishes were good and had the right traditional consistency in texture and taste.
The chicken curry was seasoned well, but the chicken wasn't as soft and tender as I would have liked. They didn't have a lamb or goat dish as
most Indian buffets offer. They should have offered a fish curry dish in lieu of the lamb or goat at the very least.
The Indian rice pudding was too watery and not of thicker consistency.
Overall a good place in a smaller city like Reading.
This food is AMAZING! Laxmi’s, I love you!
We ordered over the phone and did takeout. The man on the phone was very sweet & so nice in person.
I got the chicken tikka masala medium spicy and it is so delicious. It’s so spicy my lips are tingling but the flavor is out of this world. The garlic naan is to die for. I haven’t had indian food in years, but this is out of this world. So delicious. The portions are pretty big for the price you pay. For Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and 3 orders of Naan, our total was around $45. It’s worth the price and the quality is outstanding. The food was hot when I got home and my car smelled amazing the whole drive. If you’re looking for good indian food, this is the place to go! I can’t wait to order again, the food is wonderful & the people are so nice! Restaurant is super clean too.
Thank you Laxmi’s!! :)
Food was great, service was good. Only complaint was pinging noise made by online orders was very noticeable and loud. They should put it in the kitchen as it was distracting as we ate.
I just wanted to leave a review to say how grateful I am for the food I received at this restaurant. I was having a really bad day. I don't know how I'm going to make it through kind of day. I decided to order chana masala and dal tadka, my two favorite Indian dishes, for the first time from this place. I was completely taken away from anything bad that was going through my head. They were both overwhelmingly good and I'm so excited for leftovers at work this week. Thanks for making my day. It meant everything to me.
