First time visiting and it was amazing. The food was delicious. The beer/drink menu is very impressive & the staff were all awesome. Highly reccomended. The also have weekday happy hour specials from 4 to 6 and daily half price food specials.
Went out with a friend for St. Patricks day, great food and great service. I'm on a gluten free diet and our server was able to make multiple suggestions for things I would enjoy! She even googled the cider she recommended before bringing it out to double check if it was gluten free, which I appreciated.
Fairly new to York and only just discovered this place. It certainly lives up to its name. I have never seen such a selection of beer on tap. Even more are bottled and canned. I was very pleased with the draught I ordered. Great vibe, decent menu, good prices (especially if you go at happy hour.) I often have out of town guests and this one place I will feel comfortable taking them.

I like the atmosphere here. You walk in and immediately you find yourself in a welcoming tavern-like setting both modern and nostalgic that is comfortable in its skin. The beer selection is solid and the food fantastic. The staff were kind and attentive even in the press of St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Wonderful environment and friendly staff. We went to three different bars within walking distance of one another, and this was the best one. They have an excellent selection of different brews, and the prices are good enough that you can experience several options without spending too much.
Update: we've been to the Holy Hound two more times since I left my review, and both visits have been great. I stand by my early impression.

Been here twice now- Found this gem by looking up friendly LGBTQ friendly bar/places! Staff super friendly and informative! Food…yummm has some great comfort food! And can’t go wrong w the beer! Not far from this place….would like to try the arcade across the street!
