Dicono di noi: We had heard good things about this place on a guide and I desperately wanted the cecchetti experience. We went out of our way to go here on our last day and originally spoke with a typical, professional man who explained where to sit and to order at the bar. Admittedly, I haven't ordered at a bar since corona and wearing masks. We started pointing out what we'd like and I was very hesitent because I'm self conscious about speaking other languages I don't know and obviously mispronouncing everything. My fiancé already knows two languages and Italian is not one of them. I tied pointing but the woman in the pink hair frustratedly (literally from our first moment of interaction,) told me she can't see what I'm seeing. Understandable, I tried speaking my bad Italian again. She had taken our drink order and dismissed our attempts to order cecchetti saying "tell me when you're ready to order, I won't stand here" and it sounded rude but she went to make the drinks so I understand that. Maybe she actually could not hear me attempting to order various cecchetti because I can be quiet? We tried again to say we want to order when she finished the drinks since actually we knew what we wanted. I don't know if she just couldn't hear us over the loud music, I actually could not even hear my own partner speak so he got louder, asking to order. Then that pissed her off and it all went downhill. Truly, the music speaker was positioned straight behind him on the wall and he was only trying to be louder than the music. We respect our waiters always. But once she started with this hideous attitude, telling him not to yell and don't speak to me like that, it went downhill very fast and she wouldn't even listen to me as I tried to just move on. Instead she focused on policing my fiancé... Because he's a Chinese tourist? I don't like to mention that, but it's been true in our past experiences that he's treated differently. Then after that sorry, but you don't get to harass people because you're having a bad day. Then yes I did just grab our things and walk straight out and she yelled after us "yes good go!" as though we the paying customers were scum. Really the NUMBER ONE most disappointing and disgusting experience I've ever had at a restaurant or really anywhere I'm a paying customer. I'm sure she would dispute everything I said, and say we were rude to her but I can attest and anyone who knows us can attest that is not possible. My fiancé loves to make friends with everyone he comes into contact with often chats up strangers and our waiters. I hope that management can speak with her about her attitude, particularly at this moment where it's not possible to see smiles or read lips and the customer must instead shout over the loud music (that she chose on her playlist). Such a shame, nearly ruined our last moment in Venice honestly. I've also had personal issues come up and had to go to work anyway and yes it is hard, but you cannot take it out on other people. I hope this restaurant can retrain her so they don't lose more potential customers. I'll be emailing this same review to whomever I can at their website.
