Dicono di noi:
I get the impression that 90% of the GDP here is tourism. Crowds everywhere and everyone is spending money. The main retail serves them, food, accommodation, clothes etc with a smattering of speciality shops.
Lots of Italian's and Europeans with a few Americans and the odd Australian.
The architecture is amazing, and the history overwhelming , but you soak it in and it's great.
Great food to be had, but you have to look for it. Try and stay away from the big tourist areas's as the food is wham bam...next please.
We were also warned about the crime levels here, and it is as bad as they say. Pick pockets working in tandem going through peoples back packs unnoticed stealing anything of value.
Very few police on the beat .
Also heaps of African's harassing tourists for money everywhere.Sad part of the open boarders I guess.
That said, be picky where you go and where you eat and it's a huge buzz. Enjoy.
