We had just arrived at our Hotel opposite the restaurant "La Pepita ". There was no restaurant in our Hotel so we decided to pop across the road to a local restaurant that had been suggested by our tour guide as being very good at a reasonable price. We asked if they had a table for my wife and I and although they were very busy and had many tables reserved they fitted us in. The waitress was very friendly and brought us out a large plate with the fish of the day and also cuttlefish, the fish looked very fresh but we both decided to try the clam spaghetti ( Vongoli ). the food was prepared very quickly and served with a beautiful salad. We had ordered a bottle of red local wine which was extremely good. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. We visited the restaurant for the next two evenings of our stay in Palermo, the second time we visited the restaurant my wife had the Vongoli again as she had liked it so much the first time and I had a very large dish full of mussels in a beautiful tasting soup ( Zuppa de Cosse ). It was superb. The third visit we both had the fish of the day and it was just as good as the other two visits. This restaurant is a small family run business which is well run, with exceptionally fresh fish and shellfish and a very friendly atmosphere.
