Stopped by the Hassler, which may well be the most civilized place in all Rome. Was originally going to the Salone Eva bar, but with the beautiful weather, went to the Palm Court, in the hotel's garden courtyard. The bar itself is an art deco showpiece, like a giant teal clamshell, with chrome accents. The garden area is peaceful and elegant. They were getting ready to close for the afternoon, but graciously brought us a last round of drinks (which were excellent) and nibbles. Service was, as expected, impeccable.
