Plaza cafe: il migliore a Sanremo

Dicono di noi: The central Piazza Eroi Sanremesi is surrounded by cafés and snack bars, a pleasant area without traffic to sit down and have a coffee or a drink and do some people watching. Especially in the evenings it seems a gathering place of young men from Africa and India, who mostly stand around in groups to chat. The Plaza Café has outdoor tables with red tablecloths. Once I went there before dinner elsewhere and asked the waitress about draught beer and what brand it was. She didn't know, so the boss came and told me. I could have figured it out myself, since on the wall was an advertisement of 'Birreria Angelo Poretti 1877', a brewery from Varese near the border with Switzerland, now owned by Carlsberg. The mug of beer came with bowls of chips and peanuts as well as with pieces of Foccaccia and Sardenara, that local kind of pizza without cheese. Even sitting outside I found the Italian music coming from the interior too loud.
